Advance NDT

We can provide a full range of services in the field of advanced NDT through our global network. All our operators are qualified and certified and can perform inspections to any international code, standard or customer specification.

LONG RANGE UT/GUIDED WAVE

____________________________________

Spectra Solutions provides Long Range Ultrasonic Testing (LRUT), also known as guided wave ultrasonic testing, which is one of latest advanced technology in the field of non-destructive evaluation.  The method employs mechanical stress waves that propagate along an elongated structure while guided by its boundaries to inspect tens of meters of pipe from a single remote location.

The LRUT Main application is for rapid screening of long lengths of pipe to detect external or internal corrosion as well as axial and circumferential cracking. The system can be used to access tubular and piping systems such as insulated pipes in refineries and platforms, offshore pipeline risers and caissons, above ground or buried flow lines and many more.

The benefits of long range ultrasonic testing include:

Screening long lengths of pipe at one time
Inspection of 100% of the pipe
Detection of corrosion and erosion under insulation of pipes
Analysis of pipes at difficult-access locations, such as wall penetrations, road crossings and buried sites
Screening of on- and off-shore pipe work, even in tightly packed racks
   Riser inspection

LFET inspection system

_____________________________________

Spectra Solutions provides Low Frequency Electromagnetic Technique ( LFET) techniques for detection of microbiological induced corrosion (MIC) Attack, flow accelerated corrosion (FAC), cracking, erosion, corrosion, and pitting wall losses. LFET scanners can be used in settings where competing technologies fail or are inconvenient,

LFET has many NDT applications, including:

•Waterwalls
•Reheaters and superheaters
•Storage tanks
•Pipelines
•Service water pipes
•Fire protection pipes
•Coal mill pipes
•General pipes
•Pressure vessels
•Heat exchanger shells

TUBULAR INSPECTION

____________________________________________

Spectra Solutions provide the following latest advanced tubular inspection technology.

Depending on the material to be examined, ferrous or non ferrous, the specific discontinuities we are looking for, or any other specific need of our clients, we can provide inspection with one of the following technology :

REMOTE FIELD TESTING (RFET)
EDDY CURRENT TESTING (ECT)
MAGAWAVE Testing
NEAR FIELD TESTING (NFL)
MAGNETIC FLUX LEAKAGE TESTING (MFL)
INTERNAL ROTARY INSPECTION TESTING (IRIS)

ACOUSTIC EMISSION TESTING

____________________________________________________

Spectra Solutions provides Acoustic Emission Testing to inspect Storage Tanks, Spheres, etc. Acoustic Emission (AE) tank inspection services are undertaken while the tank remains in service

 Advantages :
detection of fatigue cracks in tank shell plate and welds.
Leaks are detected early,
Simultaneous floor and annular ring inspection
Minimal pre-inspection tank preparation

TIME OF FLIGHT DIFFRACTION (TOFD)
_____________________________________________
Spectra Solutions provides TOFD to inspect the welds of process vessels and piping with thickness more than 8mm. TOFD is reliable and faster, and is an advancement to ultrasonic testing which can used in lieu of Radiograph

    Advantages :
    • The inspection can be performed above
   200° C.
    • The evacuation of areas because of
   radiation is not necessary.
    • Higher Probability of Detection
    improves risk reduction and
    calculation.
    • TOFD saves costs, if applied during
    construction,

   Applications
    • In-service defect monitoring.
    • Defect detection, documentation and evaluation during the
  production.
PHASED ARRAY ULTRASONIC TESTING
____________________________________________
Spectra Solutions provides Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing to inspect welds of process equipment and piping. Phased array (PA) is widely used in several sectors, from power generation to construction industries. It is an advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) method that uses an ultrasonic technique to determine component quality and detect failure such as flaws or cracks.

     Advantages :

     • Simplified inspection of components that have complex  geometry.
     • Inspection of many different materials
     possible.

 •
High temperature inspections
    possible up to over 350°C.
     • Speedy inspection compared to
     conventional ultrasonic testing.

     Applications

     • Everywhere, where conventional
    ultrasonic testing has been  used.
     • Weld inspection
     • Crack and flaw detection
     • Thickness measurements
     • Corrosion inspections

POSITIVE MATERIAL IDENTIFICATION
____________________________________________

Spectra Solutions provides positive Material identification (PMI) services to identify or sort deferent types of materials to be used in construction projects. With Positive Material Identification the alloy composition of materials can be determined. PMI is particularly used for high-quality metals like stainless steel and high alloy metals. While engineers push the boundaries of material capacities to their limits in the design, assurance, that the proper material is used, becomes even more important.

Advantages :
   Allows lost material traceability
Saves time by providing accurate alloy sorting, identification and verification
